Jesus is all the world to man. He is man's life and He is everything that man hopes for and needs. For the man who is hungry and destitute, Christ is his bread of life. "Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believes on me shall never thirst," (John 6:35). Furthermore, Christ is the door, the porter that keeps the door, and the good shepherd that satisfies the wants and needs of God's house of sheep. "I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me, even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep (John 10:15-16). Life and light springs from Christ. He is the golden candlestick that shines day and night and lightens man's footsteps. "Again, therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life," (John8:12). When man sees that Christ is everything, he hears his hopeful voice in the shadow of darkness, he feels eternal love and he smells the fragrance of his mercy. Finally, when man sees that Christ is everything, he knows weeping may tarry for the night, but joy will come at sunrise.
